This week I am blessed to be spending several days with my mom. To maximize the time I have with her (which never feels like enough) I am going to take a break from writing about Downton this week, and hand it over to you, my kind readers. So please share your comments about Episode 8 with me. I certainly look forward to reading them!
Well prioritized, Ashley! If there’s a dearth of comments this week, it’s likely we all feel your shoes are too big to fill.
ReplyDeleteI’ve enjoyed DA from the outset because of its honorable characters, great dialogue, historical backdrop, and overall believeability. I found the character interactions excellent this week, and several of the cast soared to new heights of decency for me: Robert, Thomas, Shrimpy, Lady Sinderby and Rose amongst them. And while I suppose the Denker and Flintshire subplots were necessary for the good guys to triumph over evil, I would have gladly traded in Kuragin, Spratt, and Scotland Yard for more time with the mains and activities/events surrounding the wedding. Am I alone in finding several of this season’s antagonists as “too-bad-to-be-true” because of their total lack of social graces? Sometimes there’s no harm in a few shades of grey….
